in Educational Administration
Class A Master of Science in Educational Administration (30 hours):
The educational administration program at Samford University includes
the following features:
A blend of theoretical concepts with practical "hands - on"
experience
A focus on total quality improvement techniques
A focus on technology as a tool for improving administrative efficiency
and instructional effectiveness
A strong internship component, operating under the direction of
field-based mentors and university faculty
Utilization of practitioners from local school systems in modeling
and coaching of job related skills
Classroom, instruction that features problem-based learning and
case study methods
Admission Requirements:
Two official transcripts from the college or university from which
the student graduated and from any college or university attended.
A copy of Class B Alabama certificate
Undergraduate GPA of 3.0.
Completion of application and $25 application fee.
Satisfactory performance on written critique of article that is
scheduled with director and completed on site.
Recommendation by employer (Superintendent, Principal) or by a professor
knowledgeable of previous academic and/or training experience.
Two additional letters of recommendation from professors, employers,
colleagues, friends or clergy.
Score on Graduate Record Examination (GRE) of 800 or Miller Analogies
Test (MAT) of 396.
Satisfactory completion of two (2) years of teaching and/or instructional
support experience.
Admission by the Graduate Committee
Interview with director of the graduate program.
