Article I. Organizational Name
The name of the organization shall be Interior Design Student Organization of Samford University (IDSO)

Article II. Organization Purpose
IDSO exists to provide educational information, professional connections, and learning opportunities to students interested in the field of Interior Design. The organization shall work to heighten awareness of the importance and impact of Interior Design, and shall provide opportunities for professional development and collaboration. The organization shall also promote community involvement and outreach within its membership.

Article III. Organizational Membership
Section 1
IDSO membership shall be open to all students enrolled in the Interior Design program. Students who express a strong interest in the field are also invited to join

Section 2
IDSO allows participation by all people regardless of sex, race, creed, or ethnic origin.

Article IV. Officers
Section 1
The officers of IDSO shall be President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Historian.

Section 2
All officers shall be elected at the first official meeting of the fall term. Officers are elected by a 2/3 majority vote of members present at the meeting.

Section 3
No officer may be involuntarily removed f4rom office without an open hearing and a 2/3 majority vote of members present at a regular meeting.

Section 4
Officer vacancies will be filled by special elections at the meeting after the vacancy occurs

Section 5
Regular attendance of meetings and IDSO sponsored events is required of all officers

Article V. Quorum
Section 1
Proposed amendments to this constitution or its by-laws shall be presented at a regular meeting at least one meeting prior to a vote regarding amendments.

Section 2
Having been properly presented, and passed by a 2/3 majority of members present, any amendments to this constitution or its by-laws will go into immediate effect.

Article VI. Dues
Membershiip in IDSO requires the payment of $10 dues, to be paid at the beginning of each semester.

Article VII. Duties of Officers
Section 1
The President shall be responsible for insuring IDSO remains active and faithful to its purpose. The President shall be responsible for arranging gues speakers. The President also shall be responsible for reporting to the Interior Design Advisory Board regarding the organization.

Section 2
The Vice-President shall assist the President in carrying out the administrative duties of IDSO. The Vice-President is also responsible for registering the organization with the University. Should the office of President become vacant, the Vice-President shall automatically assume the office.

Section 3
The Secretary shall be responsible for recording the proceedings os IDSO meetings and events. The Secretary shall also publicize IDSO events and inform members of upcoming meetings.

Section 4
The Treasurer shall be responsible for collecting membership dues at the beginning of each semester. The Treasurer shall keep a balance of current funds and will present this balance at each meeting. The Treasurer shall also be responsible for organizing and implementing fund raising activities.

Section 5
The Historian shall be responsible for compiling an official record of the organization's activities at the end of each school year. The Historian shall take photographs at official events. In addition, the Historian shall be responsible for publicity related to IDSO (such as supplying photographs of IDSO events to the Crimson, etc).

Article VIII. Parliamentary Procedure
The President shall preside as the parliamentary authority at meetings.
